In October I went up to Argay, north of Inverness to fire a woodfired kiln I helped Nigel build last year. I took a few small guinomis along to put in the kiln. Nigel started the firing at 5am and the two of us stoked it until 8 pm. We managed to get it up to cone 9/10 1280ºC before the roof of the kiln shelter caught fire! Fortunately we managed put it out and only minimal damage was done. It two and a half days to cool down. We had great fun and the pots looked pretty good for our first attempt.
