I’ve started doing a bit of slipware again recently. My main show for 2026 will be Postfest in the Pens, Melton Mowbray, October 30th & 31st & November 1st.

Been making more mugs this week. Now have the Goldilocks set. These will be woodfired in the summer. The middle one is bone dry from last week. After a break of over three months due to my back I'm now using the wheel again. Feels good. Thought I'd start with a few stoneware mugs. A couple of Bank Holiday splatware dishes freshly slip today. A few more white on black splatware dishes freshly slipped. Detail of a couple of splats. I love the millipede effect from the interaction of two liquids using coloured slips. Slipware is the best. A freshly slipped white on black splatware dish. It will be interesting to see how this turns out as the black slip is not a recipe that I've used before. A couple more freshly slipped splatware dishes. The second is @dylanbowenceramics black slip. It will be interesting to find out how this one turns out as it is a different recipe to my usual back slip. After a very long break I'm back doing a bit of slip earthenware splatware. These are freshly slipped. I found this slipware mug I made a few years ago during my dotty phase. I made a few of these at the time as tribute to my colleagues at Paediatrics at the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics in Oxford.
