Woodfiring in Scotland September 2021

Second firing this year of the woodfired kiln. I think we are getting know how the kiln fires now. We had a nice even firing and the fire box gobbled up up all the wood we fed it with out any problems. Even the last 100 C to 1300 C (cone 10) went very smoothly. As ever the kiln opening was very exciting and the first peaks in looked encouraging. We had tried a new Tenmoku “Phil Rogers” glaze as well as the trusted Phil Rogers ash glaze and several shino glazes. As we unpacked the klin it was clear that it had been a good firing. The new Tenmoku glaze worked well and also with some great ash glaze pots. Over all very happy with the pots.
