In August I attended Nigel Lambert’s 4 day woodfiring course. We made some pots on day one which we then slipped and raw glazed ready for firing on day three. He uses a mixture of earthenware and stoneware clay and has a small Phoenix kiln which we fired. Compared to my experience of firing to stoneware temperatures this little kiln fired remarkably easily to 1100 C. Nigel also demonstrated several of his techniques that he uses for his pot making which was really interesting. I very much enjoyed the four days and in the company of my fellow potters and with Nigel and his wife. We had great potting and great food.
